Once, back in the 1980's, when living in Manc, I went out for a Chinese New Year meal.

The next day, I woke up in Hong Kong!

One of me favourite films is '10' with Dudley Moor and Bo Derek and in the film Dudley's character gets drunk and flies to Mexico, and when he wakes up the next day he doesn't realise where he is LINK

Not seen that film, tommy. Will catch it at some point maybe.

Alcohol did play a part in my 'trip'! There was no ill will involved though.

I think I have posted it in the past, but, in brief, all the restaurants we tried were either full, closed or hosting private events. Knew a family/restaurateurs would feed us in the back, even if they were full. I was very close to them.

Ended up getting swept up in their celebrations. I guess they would have assumed one or other in the family had invited us. I did not know that the family, along with some other families had chartered a plane to fly the whole party to Hong Kong.

I can recall being on the flight, after all, it is a long flight, but do not have any real impression of how I got to be there. Nor of how they got my passport: I know that I did not take it with me to the restaurant, and I had no other essentials/clothing change etc, which I am sure I would have picked up if I had called home on way to plane.

Guess I will never know.
